Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy  provides healthcare, community, and school-based services. Occupational Therapy staff work with individuals from birth to older adult who may have physical, cognitive, developmental, psychosocial, sensory, and environmental limitations. Our Kinisi Occupational Therapy staff will work with you and other specialties to establish goals and develop a treatment plan that is customized for you to regain function or adapt to changes due to injury or disability. Occupational Therapy uses a holistic approach to promote health and wellness to allow you to do what you want and need to do.

Occupational Therapy can treat many common conditions including:
• Conditions of the elbow, wrist, and hand
• Decreased ability to complete work, self care, leisure, and homemaking activities
• Weakness, incoordination, hypersensitivity, and decreased sensation
• Limitations in fine and gross motor skills
• Decreased memory, safety awareness, problem solving, and organization
• Decreased or changes in vision

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

The Kinisi Occupational Therapy staff work with children to develop age-appropriate skills in the areas of play, social, daily self-care routines, school, and home activities. According to the American Occupational Therapy Association, “Occupational therapists who work with children are knowledgeable about stages of development and the appropriate milestones in a child’s physical, mental, and behavioral development.”

Occupational Therapy staff work with children and their families to establish goals and develop a treatment plan to gain function or adapt to changes due to injury or disability. Our Kinisi Pediatric Occupational Therapy staff will work closely with other specialties to create a care plan that is customized for your child.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy can treat many conditions including:

  • Decreased ability to complete self-care, school, and daily routines
  • Weakness, incoordination, and hypersensitivity
  • Limitations in fine and gross motor skills
  • Sensory processing and self-regulation
  • Decreased attention and organization
  • Decreased or changes in vision

Physical Therapy

At Kinisi, our Physical Therapy staff are health care professionals who treat newborns to adults of all ages. Our Kinisi Physical Therapy staff will work with you and other specialties to customize a plan to help reduce pain, prevent loss of mobility and restore physical function. Our goal is to empower you to self manage your condition through education, pain relieving treatments, and safe ways to increase your activity. Following your therapy course we will continue to support your journey toward health by introducing you to our wellness coaching services.

Physical Therapy can treat conditions including:

• Acute and Chronic Pain
• Balance disorders
• Difficulty with walking
• Dizziness and Vertigo
• Incontinence
• Joint stiffness
• Muscle stiffness and imbalance
• Safe recovery from orthopedic surgery
• Weakness

We also provide services including:

• Work conditioning
• Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
